The institute was established to shape the leadership landscape and foster excellence in higher education. It strives to evolve evidence-based leadership models, curriculam, and programs through continuous research and evaluation. The institute's focused training events are designed to cultivate higher education leadership evangelists who can act as multipliers of the leadership vision and practices at their institutions and organisations.

Establishing the Leadership Institute

The Christ University Higher Education Leadership Institute, established in conjunction with the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, is at the basis of this project. The Leadership Institute is a forward-thinking effort that addresses the important need for leadership development in higher education, notably in India and South Asia. This institute is envisioned as a key role in bridging the region's leadership development gap.

 

It is situated at our Bangalore Kengeri campus, utilizing the School of Architecture building with dedicated training and breakout rooms. We have a robust IT infrastructure supporting on-campus and virtual leadership programs, including advanced technology facilities for digital innovation. Our faculty members, across various departments, possess expertise in educational leadership, training, development, and related fields. Their knowledge and experience will form the bedrock of the Leadership Institute . We also have a network of alumni and collaborations enriching our resource base.

 

The major goal of this Leadership Institute is to deliver high-quality leadership and management training to professionals in higher education. This course will be evidence-based and designed to develop competent leaders in the field of higher education.

The primary purpose of the institute is to establish as a worldwide recognized institute for higher education leadership development. The pursuit of excellence and higher standards will be central to this program.

The Genesis

The commencement of the Christ University Higher Education Leadership Institute can be followed back to a pivotal invitation reached out by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia. This recognized invitation denoted the beginning of a project that would reclassify leadership in higher education across Asia.

 

The United Board, with a heritage well established in advancing Christian higher education, perceived the essential requirement for enabling scholastic leaders in the district. In arrangement with this vision, they imagined the foundation of leadership training centers to support and refine leadership abilities inside scholastic establishments. One of these centers was imagined to track down its home inside the passageways of Christ University.

 

Embracing this open door, Christ University enthusiastically acknowledged the invitation and set out a way to actualise this visionary undertaking. The possibility of a centennial award devoted to building leadership training centers in Asia gave the ideal impetus to this joint effort. This organization was not simply an arrangement; it was the planting of seeds that would grow into the great initiative referred to in the present as Christ University Higher Education Leadership Institute.

 

To make this vision a reality, a feasibility evidence-based study was started. This study was intended to test the current scope of leadership improvement inside the higher education space. It looked to uncover key perspectives, identify noticeable gaps, and recognize opportunities for significant interventions.

 

The discoveries of this study were downright revelatory. They highlighted an unquestionable interest inside the academic fraternity for persistent, relevant, and exceptionally significant leadership training. The need for leveling up leadership abilities arose as an immediate concern, and the call for extensive training resonated highly across the higher education scene in India and South Asia.

These disclosures, embedded in empirical data and stakeholder feedback, turned into the bedrock upon which this institute was conceptualized. The venture's main goal solidified around the basis of connecting the noticeable leadership improvement gap common in the Indian and South Asian higher education circles. It intended not just to make up for this shortfall but to rise above it and become a groundbreaking force.

In conclusion, it sought to be more than an institution; it sought to be a guide for change, an impetus for progress, and a harbor of knowledge. The vision was not restricted to academic domains; it embraced the broader spectrum of society, imagining a future where powerful leadership would be a foundation for development and progress.
